Kelly installs Ardclough as favourites

September 30, 2015

Coil Dubh manager Paddy Kelly has made the bold statement that Ardclough are favourites for the county SHC title on Sunday.

Kelly guided Coill Dubh to the county title last year and as defending champions, they are many people's favourites to retain the title.

However, Kelly points to the fact that his charges have not hit top form in this year's campaign and he admitted that they were fortunate to see off Confey after a replay in the semi-final last weekend.

"Fair play to them, they have been the form team all year," Kelly stated to the Leinster Leader. "They hit the ground running and knocked Celbridge out of the winner's group - that was a major thing.

"Against Eire Og Corrachoil here in the semi-final they went about their business well and they will be the team to beat.

"I think between Coill Dubh and Ardclough, it is going to be a dinger of a final; they are two smaller country clubs as such and I'd expect great entertainment and a high skill level of a final."
