Kildare forward Padraig O'Neill is adamant that they are not letting themselves get carried away with their win over Cork in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

That win sees the Lilywhites into an All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal where they will face defending champions Kerry at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

Without doubt, it was Kildare's best performance of the year, but O'Neill stressed to the Leinster Leader that they quickly turned their attentions to the weekend.

"We'll keep our feet on the ground now; that was a great victory over Cork but it's only a step up to next weekend but we're not a bad team despite some of the criticism we get at times but we are after putting in three decent performances but we know we will need to up our performance 20, 30 or even 40 percent if we are to test Kerry on Sunday but it's a great opportunity and any time you get a chance to play Kerry in the championship is a great day and we are certainly looking forward to it."

O'Neill admitted that the win over Cork was one of the best he had experienced in the Kildare jersey during a long career.

"I'd say that is up there with the best of them; I don't think we beat a top six team before so it's a good achievement by the lads and should be a good confidence booster."
