Kildare players are devastated - Ryan

March 19, 2015

Kildare manager Jason Ryan.

Jason Ryan says the Kildare footballers were devastated after losing their third successive home game.

Sunday's 0-24 to 2-13 defeat to Roscommon at Newbridge means the Lilywhites will finish their league campaign without having picked up a solitary point at home.

"As disappointed as the spectators are, the players are devastated," Ryan says in The Kildare Nationalist. "The whole group are very disappointed in the whole thing, it's not easy to take.

"You can't afford to concede 24 scores and expect to win a game. In the second half we didn't score enough, simple as that. We made life too easy for Roscommon, conceded too many scores.

"I think it was eight from frees throughout the game and we can't afford to let that happen. Whatever about going in at half time leading, the second half was very disappointing."
