Former Wicklow goalkeeper John Flynn has transferred from Baltinglass back to his home club in Kildare - Castledermot.

Flynn told The Wicklow People that he had always intended to return to Castledermot one day but that his intercounty future - if he has one - remains in Wicklow:

"I'm going back home to where I was born and reared to play with Castledermot. Playing with Kildare would be the furthest thing from my mind. If I was to play intercounty again, it would be with Wicklow.

"I've done everything I wanted to do in Wicklow besides winning a county title with Baltinglass and for the past five years I've put my life on hold to play with Wicklow.

"But for the last ten months I've been out with an injury to my lower back so it's time to focus on myself now and to get back and play for Castledermot."
