Division 1B Minor Final Saturday 15th Nov
Maynooth 2-9
Balyna/Carbury 2-6

The newly amalgamated Balyna/Carbury Minor Team reached their first final together last Saturday in a sunny Hawkfield. It took almost ten minutes before either team registered a score with Maynooth scoring the first point of the game from a free. This was swiftly followed by a great point from the boot of Sally Morrin for Balyna Carbury. Rachel Cribbin then added to this with a point from play and two from frees. Sally Morrin added to her tally when she fisted the ball over the bar to leave the score at 5 - 1 in favour of Balyna/Carbury. However Maynooth took advantage when one of the Balyna/Carbury players was sin binned and scored three points in quick succession leaving the score at half time 5-4.
Balyna/Carbury piled on the pressure for the first ten minutes of the second half but failed to register a score. Maynooth then rallied and scored 2-1 without reply in a five minute period. Rachel Cribbin again cam e to the rescue of Balyna/Carbury scoring two exceptional goals from frees. However it was not to be Balyna/Carbury's day with Maynooth the eventual winners by three points. Best for Balyna/Carbury on the day was Rachel Cribbin, Sally Morrin, Mickella Gill and Caoimhe Dolan.
