Wow!! what a day, what an occasion, 3 absolute cracking games of football played in Moorefield gaa club on Saturday afternoon. Six teams giving it their all in county finals. A feast of colour and an electric atmosphere was created by all the supporters for all games.
As the saying goes nothing beats been there and yea all certainly played your part making plenty of noise and waving flags while cheering on your respective teams.

The junior C final between Castledermot and Kill got proceedings underway at 2pm. Castledermot well on top in the 1st half taking a good lead in at the break. Kill came out in the 2nd half and clawed the Castledermot lead back to within 4pts, but this was as good as it got for the Kill ladies, The team from the South of the county were not going to be denied they regained their composure and kicked on to come out winners on the day. Final score Castledermot 5.15 Kill 3.10

The junior A final between Clane and Carbury got underway just after 4pm. This game was a tight affair and the game was full of action from start to finish no quarter given from either side. Clane outscored Carbury in the 2nd half 1.05 to 1.00 to go on and win the match. Both Carbury and Clane girls battled hard and both at the end knew they were after been in a right tussle. The senior final the last game of the day played between Balyna and Leixlip got underway just after 6pm. Leixlip took the lead early with 2 pointed frees but it was Balyna that took over at this point and raced into a lead, A lead that was wrestled from them in the dying moments of the game. Leixlip drew level with a pointed free and Maria moolick scoring a excellent point from out the field to give the Leixlip girls the lead for the 1st time. Balyna went in search of an equaliser knowing that time was just up but it was not to be. The Leixlip girls standing firm and winning out by a single point and completing the league and championship double. Final score Leixlip 2.10 Balyna 2.09.
