U-21 All Ireland Hurling Champions

Congratulations to the eight Celbridge players who were part of the Kildare U-21 team that beat Roscommon 1-14 to 1-11 on Saturday last to win the All-Ireland B championship. Gerry Keegan played a captain's part by scoring 9 points of which 7 were from play, the other Celbridge players were Liam Mc Donagh, Kevin Murphy, Niall Kenny, Shane O'Flynn, Paul Kelly, Ronan Byrne and Jordan Morrissey. Noel Mc Mahon was the manager of the side.

Fixtures & Results

A very busy weekend ahead for the senior teams in the club, the senior footballers are first up on Friday night when they take on Carbury in Kilcock @8pm in the quarter final of the championship. On Saturday evening the senior hurlers take on Ardclough in the county semi-final in Naas @5.30pm. On Sunday the senior camogs take on Cappagh in Donore @11am in their county semi-final. Your support at these important games would be greatly appreciated.

All Ireland Football Final Tickets

As usual we will have the draw for the Football tickets on Friday night. We will delay the draw until 11pm as the senior footballers will be playing in Kilcock at 8pm. The Co Board tickets are €80 each and have to be paid for on the night and the draw is open to paid up members only. Draw for Premium Tickets is open to all at €5 per ticket.

Underage Disco

Our first club junior disco took place on Friday night and was a huge success from every point. Forgetting about the monetary aspect to the club  for the moment and just looking at all the youngsters who we witnessed coming to the disco. . We were very proud to see how well they all behaved and how much they enjoyed themselves and that was very plain to see from very early in the night

The kids who came in addition to our own  were from a  Maynooth, Kilcock, Clane, Lucan, Leixlip, Summerhill, Palmerstown, Clondalkin, and some other areas which I cannot recall at the moment.

A big debt of gratitude is due to all our helpers and in particular to Nora and Gerry Deegan who  did 6 nights of pre- registration in the club  prior to the event and Noel Shaw who processed the memberships with us also. 

It is very re- assuring in these times to see so many people giving of their time and expertise to our club and it again shows what we are capable of doing when everybody is on board.  A large number of parents were very complimentary all week to us and also on the night at how well we ran the disco and how professional we were.  Folks we don't get compliments like that too often so take a bow
