Kildare midfielder Tommy Moolick faces a race against time to be fit for the start of the Leinster SFC after he injured his hamstring playing for his club.

It is believed that the Leixlip star has damaged the hamstring badly after he pulled up during the match having made one of his trademark runs.

Kildare manager Jason Ryan will be waiting anxiously for the result of the scan, and if the tear is bad enough, Moolick could be out of action for up to eight weeks.

The Kildare injury list has subsided substantially in recent weeks and Ryan will be hoping to have a full strength squad to choose from before the start of the provincial campaign.
