Rathcoffey GAA Notes

April 04, 2014
Senior Team
The Senior team had strong run in the season-opening Dowling Cup, getting to the semi-final where they were ultimately beaten by Milltown. The Senior Football League Division Three action kicked off with a draw in a tough away encounter against Castlemitchell. This weekend will be a local derby when Cappagh travel over to Rathcoffey on Saturday evening for a 6.30 pm throw-in. Some of the club's successful minor players are now making a successful transition to the senior ranks. They welcome your support.

The senior team's kit is this year sponsored by D&D Fitting, cabinet makers. A big thanks to Patrick Duffy and Shane Dunne for their support.

Juvenile Section
The under 9's and 10's recently had the privilege of playing at half time of the Kildare v Tyrone match in Newbridge. The players also formed the guard of honour for the teams coming on to the pitch. The children all had a great day out despite Kildare being beaten. The players did their clubs proud - a big thanks to the mentors and parents who helped ensure everyone was there and togged out on the day.

All juvenile teams are now up and running with many having started matches over recent weekends. We hope to include more news in future editions and on our Facebook page - watch out for more details.

If you would like your child to join a juvenile team, or if you would like to get involved, please let any mentor or committee member know.

Table Quiz
The senior footballers are organising a fundraising table quiz in the Clubhouse on Holy Thursday night, 17th April. This was a fun event last year and is a great way to kick off a long Easter weekend. A table of four costs €20 - please come along to support if you can. Throw in at 9 pm!

St. Patrick's Day Parade
The Juvenile Committee once again proudly represented the club at last month's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Jim Campbell's float won widespread praise for its creativity and how well it was put together. Thank you to all who were involved in making the day a success.
