Flynn tipped for AFL stardom

Kildare's Daniel Flynn.
Former Kildare star Daniel Flynn has been tipped to make it to the top in the AFL.

The Lilywhites were dealt a blow when one of their rising stars jetted off to Australia before Christmas to sign a professional contract with Aussie Rules side Port Adelaide.

And his coach at the club Matthew Nicks told the Kildare Nationalist that Flynn has all the attributes to have a good career in the game.

"It's going to be interesting because he has the football physique to go with his speed and agility and he could be huge for us with those attributes," said Nicks.

"We want to run the ball and attack the game and that's where his athletic strengths lie. It will take a lot of work though the initial signs are encouraging."
