Ballymore left to rue missed chances

November 01, 2017

Ballymore Eustace captain Michael Stewart Byrne admits that they feel like they left their Leinster club JFC clash against time.

Extra time was needed to separate the Kildare champions and Offaly counterparts Erin Rovers with the latter finishing strongly to claim a 1-16 to 0-13 victory.

Stewart Byrne states in the Leinster Leader that they had hoped to do well in the Leinster campaign but added they rued the missed chances during the game.

"We thought we could go far this year. It was a huge shock to get relegated, we were senior not too long ago and we were aiming to go far in this," said Stewart Byrne.

"We're happy with the overall season but we definitely could have done better. We had the beating of them in normal time. In extra time we weren't good enough and once they got the goal, that just killed the game."
