The late Maurice Walsh It was with deepest sadness that a North Kerry GAA club contacted The Kerryman in remembrance of one of its most dedicated members who died. "Clounmacon GAA club would like to extend its sincerest sympathy to the family of Maurice Walsh of Skehenerin. Mossie had a great love for Gaelic football at local and national level. He was involved in the local club from a young age and played with Clounmacon for many years, after which he took up the position of secretary. He also acted as referee during the latter part of his life, a role he also fulfiled with distinction. Mossie was very involved too in republican politics and was widely regarded by his many friends in politics. A popular bartender, during his years working in both Listowel and Ballybunion, and a lover of card games he will be sadly missed by all he touched during his life. Members of Clounmacon Gaa Club, from the sixties and seventies to the present would all like to sympathise with his family, relatives and friends.
