John Egan - son of the late Kerry football legend of the same name - has been named on the PFA League One Team of the Year.
Egan has been rewarded for an outstanding season with Gillingham by making the best League One XI along with team-mate Bradley Dack.
The Cork-born star signed for Sunderland as a younger and subsequently had loan spells at Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Bradford and Southend before being signed by the Gills two years ago.
John's father, who died at the age of 59 in 2012, played on the great Kerry team of the 1970s and 80s, winning six All-Irelands and nine Munster medals in a glittering career.
