Divisional outfit South Kerry are celebrating a first Bishop Moynihan Cup success in six years after Aidan Walsh's fisted point decided an extra-time thriller in Killarney.

It was tough on Legion, who were denied victory in normal time by Killian Young's late equaliser. The first period of extra-time failed to produce a score before corner back Padraig O'Connor punched Legion back in front. But a Daniel Daly free levelled before Walsh secured victory for South Kerry, who were aided and abetted by Bryan Sheehan's haul of 1-5.

Conor Keane opened the scoring for Legion, but Sheehan, who was black-carded in extra-time, was already making his mark with some excellent score-taking for the winners. Legion midfielder Jamie O'Sullivan raised the first green flag in the 18th minute to help his side to a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead.

A brace of James O'Donoghue frees and an Aidan Walsh point extended the Killarney side's lead to six points before Sheehan fired a 39th minute goal to bring the divisional side back into it. Young's left-footed equalising point with six minutes remaining had left the sides level on 1-11 apiece at full-time.
