Kerry forward Colm Cooper admits that he has to remind himself sometimes that he has suffered a long term injury.

Cooper is edging back to his best, but having been out of competitive action for over a year, it is a long road back to his best.

And he admitted to the Kerryman that it can be sometimes frustrating not being able to do some of the things he could do in the past.

However, his quick thinking free against Cork led to a goal and the 'Gooch' is certainly edging back towards his best.

"Sometimes, I have to keep reminding myself I've been away from the game for so long with a serious injury and maybe things don't come as easily as they once did," said Cooper.

"You've too work that little bit harder for them and that's fine, that's the way it is, that's okay. Me getting to my expectations is more important than getting to everybody else's expectations, because I need to reach a certain level to make sure I'm in this Kerry team and once I'm doing that and heading to Croke Park now, one of my favourite venues, that's definitely a step in the right direction."
