There is speculation that one of Kerry's top hurlers could be about to declare for Dublin.

Darragh O'Connell's transfer from Abbeydorney to south Dublin club Cuala has paved the way for the highly-rated forward to throw in his lot with Ger Cunningham's charges. The 25-year-old won a Christy Ring Cup medal in 2011, three All-Ireland U21 'B' medals in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and has also represented Ireland in the Hurling/Shinty International series.

A decade ago, another Kerry hurling star, Shane Brick, was strongly linked with a move to Limerick, but the transfer never materialised.
