Keane not getting carried away

July 17, 2014
Killarney Legion manager Peter Keane stressed that they have nothing won following their much publicised win over defending champions Dr Crokes in the county SFC.

Legion ended their neighbour's quest for a record equalling five-in-a-row county titles when they recorded a two-point victory at Fitzgerald Stadium last weekend.

Much has been made of Legion's win, but Keane stressed to the Kerryman that it was only the third round of the championship and that there was a long way to go yet.

"It is a great reward for the club, but it is just a round three win. There is no reason to get carried away," said Keane. "I know people will blow it up a bit with it being the Crokes, but I feel we really showed massive character, especially in the last few minutes when I thought our fitness was great."
