Champs start title defence against neighbours

April 17, 2014
Kerry county senior football champions Dr Crokes will face neighbours Rathmore in the opening round of the championship.

Seeking their fifth consecutive county title, Crokes will once again start the campaign as favourites to win the title.

However, they will have to do so without their talisman, Colm Cooper, who has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the year.

The 2013 finalists Austin Stacks face Feale Rangers in the first round in what should be a tough match for them.

The full draw is as follows:
Rathmore v. Dr Crokes
South Kerry v. Kerins O'Rahillys
Feale Rangers v. Austin Stacks
Dingle v. Kenmare District
Laune Rangers v. St Brendan's
St Kieran's v. Mid Kerry
Milltown/Castlemaine v. West Kerry
Currow v. St Michael's/Foilmore
East Kerry v. Killarney Legion
Shannon Rangers v. Kilcummin

The first round of the championship is scheduled to take place over the course of the June Bank Holiday weekend.
