The Late John O'Sullivan

Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club members have extended their sympathy to the O'Sullivan family, St. Stephen's Park on the untimely death of John O'Sullivan.
John, formerly of Desmond's Avenue, was a noted footballer in his day; a player who could always see the chance and take it.
He had the distinction of winning two county minor championship medals with Castleisland in the mid 1960s and had the honour of playing with the Kerry minors. John will always be associated with the old town leagues when he was a central player on the Desmond's Avenue/ Limerick Road team who, on their day, could beat the best of the town. A guard of honour consisting of former and present players and officials escorted his remains from Tangney's Funeral Home to the Church of Saints Stephen and John.
A minute's silence was observed before Desmonds senior game against the Legion. John's son Neil lined out with the Desmonds - a fitting tribute by a equally gifted chip off the old block. May he rest in peace.
