Tyrone boss Mickey Harte says Kerry are well capable of deploying a defensive system in Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

It’s 16 years since Harte used his own defensive system to restrict the Kingdom to just six points to advance to the All-Ireland final where they defeated Armagh for their first Sam Maguire crown, and the Red Hands’ manager knows the Munster champions will be doing all in their power to book a win at Croker this weekend.

"It's not beyond Kerry to have systems as well," Harte told BBC Sport. "We played them in Killarney this year and I saw as defensive a set-up as we've met anywhere.

"Yes they're very good in their forward division and they are quality players but they are capable of playing whatever way is needed to win games too."

On his team’s recent hectic schedule, he added: “Our players had been on the road for five consecutive weeks and this was the first break they had got virtually from when the league started. We needed the chance for some of our players to get a break."
