Brian Turnbull earned rich praise from his manager Denis Ring after inspiring Cork to an All-Ireland MHC semi-final victory over Dublin.

The Douglas corner forward scored 0-13 in a man of the match display as the Rebels set up a final date with Galway on September 3.

"Brian is a phenomenal young fella, fantastic. His patience was immense," enthused Ring, who went on to commend the player for not reacting to some alleged rough treatment from the Dublin defence.

"If anyone was to get a red card, it was probably someone else for the 12 or so frees that were committed on him. It was a bit disappointing to see someone trying to double on the ball in one instance and getting a red card and another guy who was fouled I don't know, probably 14 or 15 times, and eventually a yellow card is handed out towards the end.

"But Brian is a phenomenal player, so composed, very disciplined and very unassuming. He's a very humble young fella."
