Martin Comerford has spoken of his pride at representing Kilkenny in the Leinster club SHC.

The 37-year-old former Kilkenny All-Ireland winning full forward rolled back the years with a superb performance for O'Loughlin's in their semi-final win over holders Oulart-The Ballagh a fortnight ago.

"It's brilliant for me to be representing Kilkenny in the Leinster championship and I'm really looking forward to it," he told RTE ahead of Sunday's provincial final against Cuala.

"It's a magical, brilliant competition. The only downside would be that maybe it is played a little bit too late (in the year). Maybe the weather conditions are not as conducive as they would be in the summer. Other than that, it is a fantastic competition."

'Gorta' added: "It's a team game. Our team played very well after a sluggish start (against Oulart). Our forwards are improving every day.

"We need to perform for 60, 65 minutes on Sunday and hopefully we will be in the right frame of mind. We're in good physical condition and hopefully we will do ourselves justice."
