Former Waterford hurler Jack Kennedy admits that winning a Munster club title with his native club would be the pinnacle of his career.

Kennedy and his Ballyduff Lower team mates are just 60 minutes away from achieving that goal as they prepare to face Cork's Mayfield in the provincial club JHC final on Sunday.

The 35-year-old has won two Munster SHCs and a National hurling league title from his time with Waterford, while he also featured in the 2008 All-Ireland final.

However, Sunday's game is right up there with any of his previous accolades as he stressed to the Waterford News & Star that it would be something else to win a provincial title with the club.

"A lot of years you were chasing All-Irelands and chasing Munster championships. With something like this, you wouldn't even dream about it because it would seem too far-fetched to be playing with Ballyduff," said Kennedy.

"It would be something special if we could get over the line."

Kennedy had moved to De La Salle in 2012, but transferred back to his native club this year where they have had huge success.
