Kildare footballer Fergal Conway must play the waiting game to see if he will be eligible to play in the Leinster club IHC final.

Conway, who was named Kildare Senior Footballer of the Year last week, was shown a straight red card in Celbridge's win over Wicklow champions Bray Emmets last Saturday.

However, Celbridge manager Seamus Murphy stated to the Leinster Leader that the club will be appealing the red card.

"It appears by general opinion that Fergal was very easily dismissed and we will have intentions of hopefully appealing this and if video evidence is of any use then we will use it," said the new Wicklow manager.

Celbridge will play Kilkenny champions Carrickshock in the provincial decider at Newbridge on Saturday week.
