Bray Emmets 1-9

43-year-old Don Hyland earned Carnew Emmets a second bite at the cherry in the Wicklow SHC final against Bray Emmets yesterday.

A second final defeat on the trot looked to be on the cards for Carnew as the clock ticked down but up popped the evergreen substitute to force a replay.

Playing with wind advantage in the first-half, holders Bray held a one point advantage at the halfway stage of a low-scoring encounter.

A Mikey Lee goal placed them in pole position in the second-half and they held a three points cushion with 10 minutes to go.

To their credit, Carnew refused to throw in the towel, hit three unanswered points and it's back to Aughrim next Sunday.
