Kilkenny came from behind in the closing stages of today's Leinster MHC final against Dublin to capture their 55th provincial title in the grade.

With eight minutes remaining on the clock, the Pat Hoban managed outfit trailed by two but they broke Dublin hearts when hitting four unanswered points to get their hands on the silverware.

Tadhg O'Dwyer's fifth minute goal separated the sides at the break - Kilkenny 1-7, Dublin 0-8 - but Johnny McGuirk's Dublin took over in the driving seat shortly after the resumption.

Alex Considine gave them the perfect start to the second-half when finding the back of the Kilkenny net and, as the clock ticked down, the Metropolitans would have fancied their chances of regaining a title they last held in 2012.

But, with their backs against the wall, Richie Leahy (free) and captain Daniel O'Connor got reigning All-Ireland champions Kilkenny back on level terms before substitutes Conor Hennessy and Edmund Delaney applied the gloss to their late comeback.
