The Dublin-Meath rivalry is alive and well as Jason Sherlock gets stuck into Colm O'Rourke.

The Dublin legend says his Meath counterpart didn't know what he was talking about when he decided to launch a stinging attack on the GPA over the weekend:

"Colm O'Rourke went in with the studs up on the GPA two days ago," the 1995 All-Ireland winner writes in The Irish Daily Star. "In a Sunday Independent column, he was very critical of the players' body and what it does.

"I don't think O'Rourke was coming from a position of great knowledge. It is unfortunate that you still get prominent GAA people making unsubstantiated and unresearched claims about the GPA.

"It was striking how many current players took to social media to defend the GPA and hit back at O'Rourke. That's because they know how important the GPA is to their lives.

"Initially it would be fair to say that the GPA didn't know where it wanted to go in terms of its vision and goals. But, certainly in the last number of years, I think it's found its place in the scheme of things."
