Sutherland unimpressed by performance
February 01, 2012
Kildare hurling manager Willie Sutherland is adamant that there will be a change in the players' attitude.
The Lilywhites suffered defeat to GMIT in the Kehoe Cup last weekend, but the performance more than the loss annoyed Sutherland and Kildare were nowhere near their best.
"I'm stuck for words to be honest with you," Sutherland lamented to the Leinster Leader. "We had done enough of work to defeat that GMIT team, but while the effort was fine, the basics, the finer points of the game we were just not at the races.
"They showed they were up for it, they had fire in their bellies and they will simply have to get back to that level again. I would expect to win that Kehoe Cup and get to the final of the Ring Cup that is what we have to aim for but we have a lot of work to do on this display."
