Cody admits Dempsey concern
February 03, 2010

The Kilkenny management team of Brian Cody (manager) Michael Dempsey and Martin Fogarty.
Brian Cody has admitted that it would be a blow to lose his trusty lieutenant Michael Dempsey.
The former Laois football manager has served the Cats' history-making four-in-a-row team as trainer but there are suggestions that he may have to step aside as he now works full-time within the GAA (for Leinster Council as Carlow's Games Manager).
Carlow and Kilkenny are currently working on a proposal which will hopefully free Dempsey up to continue with the Black & Amber, and Cody is keeping his fingers crossed:
"It is a concern if anyone suggests there is a problem like this. Michael is a top-class physical trainer.
"I don't know a lot about the rules behind this so I will have to reserve judgement on it.
"We're keeping an eye on the situation and we have talked to the County Board about it, trying to check things out."
