Conlon faces anxious wait

Clare's John Conlon
Clare's John Conlon will today discover the extent of the leg injury he sustained while playing for NUIG against Dublin in the Walsh Cup on Saturday.

The centre forward, who was one of the stars of the Banner County's historic All-Ireland under 21 success last year, was forced off after 42 minutes with a suspected leg fracture in the 0-12 to 2-16 defeat at Portmarnock.

Conlon missed Clare's heavy defeat by Waterford in yesterday's Waterford Crystal Cup semi-final at Ballyduff Upper, and a concerned Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin said: "We are hoping for the best possible news on John because I can't tell you how important he is to our plans this season."
