Fitzgerald accuses 'Sparrow' of mind games

Waterford and Limerick IT manager Davy Fitzgerald
Davy Fitzgerald has accused his former Clare team-mate Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin of indulging in mind games ahead of Waterford's Munster SHC semi-final clash with the Banner on June 7.
In yesterday's Waterford Crystal Cup dress rehearsal, Waterford eased to a 12-point victory, but Fitzgerald said he wasn't reading anything into the result and accused Clare of holding back..
He said: "Last Tuesday night against Tipperary, they (Clare) worked very hard. The way they battled was unreal.
"I'm not fooled at all by that, that's only mind games. I know there is way more in Clare than that, without a shadow of a doubt. I saw the tackles they put in on the Tipp lads. I was waiting for the same. I didn't see it. Did I learn anything? No. Don't be fooled.
"We are expecting an avalanche on June 7. I just don't believe in rubbish. Last Tuesday, 'Sparrow' was non-stop up and down the sideline. Today, not a word. I'm not an idiot."
O'Loughlin refused to rise to the bait, saying: "I wouldn't expect him to say anything different."
