Galway minor manager Stephen Joyce feels that every mistake his charges made were punished by Kerry in last Sunday's All-Ireland MFC final.

The Tribesmen were powerless to stop the Kingdom from marching to a third consecutive title at this level.

Joyce pointed to their slow start as one of the reasons for their downfall, but he praised his youngsters for the way they tried to battle back.

"Obviously, we're very disappointed," Joyce told the Tuam Herald. "In the first half we didn't play, we were a little bit nervous going into it. They had that little bit more experience, this being their third game in Croke Park and a lot of their lads played a Colleges final here early on in the year.

"We took a lot of wrong options in the first half. It took us 20 minutes to score and I think that, at the end of the day, caught us."

He added: "We came back into the game well in the second half and we did look like we had them on the rack, but unfortunately young Clifford put another one in the roof of the net and that probably killed off the game."
