The hard work paid off for Desmond Conneely and his Galway minor team-mates in today's All-Ireland semi-final against Donegal.

The full-forward finished with 1-2 to his name and, shortly after the final whistle, he told TG4's GAA Beo: "It's great, all the training all year, all the hard work we've put in, to finally get to the All-Ireland final is a great feeling.

"We knew Donegal would have a strong team out today and that nothing but our best would beat them."

Can Galway end their nine year wait for the Tom Markham Cup against the winners of Kildare and Kerry?

"Both of them are going to be seriously tough. We're going to have to up it again from that today to have a chance of beating them.

"We're not going to be afraid of any of them.

"We're going to do our best. It's great to be in an All-Ireland final. We go out to win every game and we'll definitely be going out in the All-Ireland final to win that."
