Corofin came perilously close to surrendering their county, provincial and All-Ireland football titles in Tuam Stadium yesterday.

Trailing traditional giants Tuam Stars by 0-8 to 1-8 with eight minutes to go in their Galway SFC quarter-final, the All-Ireland champions showed their survival instincts by grabbing the last three points to earn a 0-11 to 1-8 draw. A date for the replay has yet to be confirmed.

Also yesterday, Paul Conroy's St. James' defeated Kilconly by 2-14 to 1-9 in their SFC relegation playoff.

The other three quarter-finals take place today. They see Leitir Moir taking on Killanin, Cortoon Shamrocks up against An Cheathru Rua and Annaghdown facing Mountbellew/Moylough.
