A new fundraising committee will be launched tomorrow with the aim of bringing Tuam Stadium up to modern-day standards.

The Development Advocates for Tuam Stadium (DAFTS) are a voluntary group whose goal is to dramatically improve facilities at the ailing ground. Despite being the spiritual home of Galway football, the county teams now play most of their home matches at Pearse Stadium.

DAFTS is made up of members from GAA clubs across north Galway who are independently working to raise funds to further developments at the stadium in cooperation with Galway county board and the Tuam Stadium Committee.

The committee's plans will be presented at tomorrow morning's launch at the Corralea Court Hotel.
