Galway manager Kevin Walsh is refusing to panic ahead of today's rescheduled Allianz Football League encounter with Laois at Tuam Stadium.

Top of the Division 2 table when a snow-covered pitch resulted in the postponement of the original fixture three weeks ago, the Tribesmen now find themselves threatened by relegation following back-to-back losses to Down and Cavan.

"At the end of the day, there is no 17 or 18-point beatings here," Walsh said in the Connacht Tribune.

"We have been consistent up to now, albeit we do have things to improve on. So there will be no panic buttons pressed. At the start of the year, we said we would be looking to stay in games for as long as possible and when you look back at every game in the league, you would be saying we could have won all of them."

The former All-Ireland winning midfielder agreed that a win this afternoon is vital.

"Absolutely. Every game, though, is crucial. The two points we left up in Down were crucial, especially as they are two points we felt we threw away. We know that."
