Last year's runners-up Cork IT advanced to the last four of the Fitzgibbon Cup with a comfortable nine point victory over NUIG in Bishopstown today.

The Galway outfit pulled off a surprise when knocking out UCC last time out but they failed to repeat that trick on this occasion.

John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer was in fine form for CIT shooting four points to help establish a 0-10 to 0-6 interval lead while Bobby Duggan accounted for half of NUIG's first-half total.

It was all one-way traffic after the resumption as Pat Mulcahy's charges pulled away to win in style.

Tipp star O'Dywer doubled his personal tally and CIT now look forward to finals weekend in LIT on February 27/28.
