Donnellan tipped for Castledaly role

December 03, 2014

Former Galway footballer John Donnellan is being hotly tipped to take over Westmeath side Castledaly for the 2015 campaign.

Donnellan is set to be ratified into the position at this Friday night's AGM and the former Galway minor football manager brings a wealth of experience to the job.

A member of the 2001 Galway All-Ireland winning squad, Donnellan's management career has seen him involved with Tuam Stars in his native county as well as Mayo side Breaffy.

Castledaly have struggled in recent years and narrowly avoided relegation this year, while they have failed to reach the dizzy heights of 2008 when they won their one and only county SFC title.

Clubs are busy filling their positions for the coming year and a number of the football clubs in the county have their management teams for 2015 filled at this stage.
