Beagh 0-10

Gort will face All-Ireland champions Portumna in the much-delayed Galway SHC final on December 14 after seeing off Beagh's challenge in Athenry.

This local derby clash failed to live up to expectations with Mattie Murphy's charges seizing control after a slow start. With Padraig Landers and Kevin Keehan in fine scoring form, Beagh - who defeated Ardrahan in last Sunday's quarter-final - opened up a 0-4 to 0-1 lead after seven minutes, but Gort stormed back to take a 1-9 to 0-6 lead into the break.

The winners reeled off five points without reply per Aidan Harte, Michael Mullins, Gerry Quinn (two) and Richie Cummins to take the lead before Keehan replied with a 17th minute free for Beagh.

However, Gort responded again with an unanswered 1-2 - the goal coming from Gerard O'Donoghue three minutes before the interval.

Beagh reduced the deficit to four points early in the second half, but with Gerry Quinn slotting over 0-6 from frees and Cummins also prominent, Gort ran out comfortable winners.

With Pearse Stadium out of commission until the New Year, Kenny Park will also stage the final.
