All of Galway's inter-county hurling teams could soon be competing in Leinster after it was confirmed that the intermediates will be following their senior counterparts across the Shannon in 2015.

For the first time ever, Galway will participate in the Leinster IHC next year. In last night's draw, they were paired with Kilkenny in the semi-final, with Wexford awaiting the winners in the final.

Along with Antrim, Galway joined the Leinster SHC in 2009 and famously beat Kilkenny to lift the Bob O'Keeffe Cup in 2012. There have been calls for the minor and U21 teams to follow suit due to the fact that there is no Connacht championship in either grade, and those calls will undoubtedly grow louder now that the intermediates have decided to head east.
