Camogs face tricky trip to Cork

July 18, 2014
Galway can seal their place in the knockout stages of the All-Ireland senior camogie championship with a win over Cork at Pairc Ui Rinn tomorrow.

Following their first round loss to Wexford, the All-Ireland champions bounced back to hammer Dublin last time out, but they would need table-toppers Wexford to suffer a shock loss to the Dubs to have any chance of qualifying directly for the semi-finals.

"The thing is you'd like to finish second (in the group)," Galway manager Tony Ward is quoted in the Connacht Tribune.

"Our aim was to finish first, but at the stage of the year, we're aiming for second. We need to be getting results.

"Cork are one of the contenders. No doubt about it. They have been in semi-finals and finals for the last couple of years. They are one of the top-four teams."
