The respective futures of managers Anthony Cunningham (Galway) and Eamon O'Shea (Tipperary) could be on the line when they come face-to-face along the Semple Stadium sideline this Saturday.

As qualifier draws go, from Galway's perspective, they don't come any tougher than Tipperary in Thurles.

Cunningham and his charges have no choice but to get back up on the horse just over seven days since finishing on the wrong end of the 1-17 to 3-19 scoreline against Kilkenny in last Saturday's Leinster SHC semi-final replay.

Tipperary, on the other hand, have benefitted from a five week break since their loss to Limerick in the Munster semi-final.

They have had ample time and opportunity to iron out the creases that blighted their display against the Shannonsiders and they will fancy their chances of inflicting further misery on the Tribesmen this weekend.

Ironically, the two counties met in a challenge game a fortnight ago: "We know all there is to know about them at this stage and they us, so that's not going to be an issue." O'Shea said mid-week.

Verdict - Tipperary.
