'Missed chances'

Galway manager Anthony Cunningham pointed to his side's 'missed chances' as the main reason for their defeat to Kilkenny.

The Tribesmen missed a number of glorious opportunities for goals during their NHL semi final clash and it proved decisive as Kilkenny put in a strong second half showing to claim victory.

And Cunningham was quick to point out had they taken some of the chances that they missed then it would be Galway preparing for the NHL final.

"Missed chances," was Cunningham's answer to his thoughts on the game. "It was a game that we could have won. We did well in defence and midfield for most of the match, and a lot of good play up front as well, but we will have to be a bit sharper."

Cunningham has over a month to prepare his side for the Leinster SHC as Galway take on the county that finishes second in the round robin series that comprises of Antrim, Carlow, Laois, London and Westmeath on June 1st.
