Galway's hopes of winning a three-in-a-row of All-Ireland MHC titles on Sunday week have received a huge boost with the news that captain Ian McGlynn has been cleared to play.
The centre back had the straight red card he received following an off-the-ball incident in the 38th minute of the semi-final win over Wexford rescinded at a meeting of the GAA's Central Hearings Committee last night.
Galway manager Brian Hanley had vowed to fight the one-match ban and McGlynn is now free to face Kilkenny in the Irish Press Cup decider.
