When a footballing legend like Padraig Joyce heaps praise on a team, then you should know there is something special about the group.

Joyce was wholesome in his praise for his Galway under-20 charges following their defeat to Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final last weekend.

A poor start to the game left Galway with a mountain to climb, but they did work hard to close the gap before Dublin finished strongly.

Nonetheless, Joyce feels that all his players have a bright future in the game as he told the Connacht Tribune that they are a credit to everyone close to them.

“That’s the way sport is, you have good days and you have some bad days. The lads are a credit to their parents, to their families and to their clubs,” Joyce told the Connacht Tribune.

“They’re just unbelievable fellas. I’ve great time for each one of them. Unfortunately, things just didn’t go our way but they will learn from it. They’ll come back better, bigger and stronger players from it.”
