RTE want new GAA program

(Oldest Posts First)

I saw recently that RTE have advertised for tender making a new GAA programme for the summer. A new 'Thank GAA ITS Friday' type thing I'd say. Imagine they feel the don't have the wherewithal in-house to do it themselves after decades of broadcasting Gaelic Games.

here a mad idea. Just show the action on the pitch. No wacky features, funny guests or controversial pundits. Just show the sport !!!

Are you mad! That'd involve providing cameras and crews at the games though.

All ready have put my idea to them, the programming will be anchored by Ollie, htaem will be on the panel along with real dub, Ziggy will be the commentator on the games jackeen in the dressing room, waynol doing the funny stuff IE other uses for a bodhran , I'll do the sideline stuff along with evanne ni chullig :). Special reporter can be ohtobearossie he can do things like what really happens to the Roscommon bus when it's parked up.
Anyone else please apply to myself or Ollie for interview, blonde and long legs a distinct advantage

You'd wonder how much they could save if they cut the pundits and if said savings could be spent on sending out more crews and cameras to more games?

a highlights show with no pundits, just footage, after match interviews and maybe a feature from one game with a reporter.
that's my idea of a great GAA tv show.
I'd nearly invite in a panel of fans from a few counties and get their opinions on how their counties are going.
I don't want to listen to former players, analysts or so called experts. I can do that in the pub

Even if they just show a picture of a football for half an hour it has to be better than the muck they have on at the moment thank GAA it's Friday is rubbish and that voice over that eejet from the rugby drives me demented, he hasn't a clue about anything, it's hard to beat TG4 coverage of our games
