I'm surprised this is never mentioned! It surley must be the biggest threat to the GAA in rural Ireland!!! Gone are the days when u will have 6/8 brothers [ or sisters] backboning the small country club, those days are gone forever. The biggest threat to the GAA, and more, in rural Ireland has always been, and still is, emigration."]100% correct It's been magnified by the economic crash All models are pointing to that situation getting worse, with outward migration to urban areas set to significantly increase I believe these factors will have a transformational impact on the current GAA structures Ireland has completely changed, and in the age of information, the world is a much smaller place with options now available to young Irish people like never before. Forced emigration shouldn't be a problem now but migration from rural areas into the bigger cities in pursuit of those jobs probably is.
