Strange decisions by Leinster Council

(Oldest Posts First)

They would not give Laois the one fixture they really wanted and should have got in 2016 ---- the Leinster championship match between Dublin and Laois. And now they throw the two Leinster club deciders into O Moore Park. Surely the Vincents - Rhode game should have been fixed for either Newbridge or Navan.

How is it strange? Superior venue and similar distance for both. The other two venues aren't as suitable for a big game as I don't think they'd be set up as well for tv coverage number 1....
The most obvious venue in my opinion

Portlaoise is ideal for both in this case.
it's an hour from Dublin and less from offaly, also allows for both to come from different directions less of a traffic problem. Can't see the problem to be honest

I didn't hear anyone from either club complain. In fact, Tony Kelly alluded to his fellow club players who hadn't previously made any Clare county panel who never dreamed they'd get to play a Munster final on the hallowed Semple sod.

I don't think Navan would be in the running in fairness, an argument could be made for Newbridge perhaps location wise but O'Moore Park has a bigger and much much better stand and more covered seating which at this time of year is a desirable thing.

O'Moore Park is a great place to watch a game great atmosphere from the stand which is very close to the pitch...

The warm up area's and dressing rooms are second to none and inter county players like it as a venue so it was an easy choice....Newbridge and Navan just aren't up to it

Portlaoise is Ideal for Dublin teams less than an hour down the road and great road network access

Portlaoise is suitable for both teams, next county to Offaly, and a short journey via the motorway from Dublin.
It is just 15miles away from me!
