Refereeing in Kilkenny v Waterford

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Referee appears to be significantly in favour of Waterford. Then once the crowd got on his back he gives Kilkenny the softest free ever. He has completely dogged Kilkenny so far. Awful performance in first half

He's letting the game flow. I'm happy with him. Has given a couple of soft frees to both sides all the same.

I see he is continuing to be completely biased against kilkenny

I have never, in my entire life, seen such unbelievably biased refereeing. Honestly, its scary.

Lads he wasn't a complete disgrace, a few of the more obvious calls went against Kilkenny but what a nightmare of a game to try and ref!

Every Killkenny man pulls his man when the ball spills. Never once pulled by the ref.

Chop, chop, chop all day long.

Disagree with the general mood. The ref let an awful lot go on both sides.

KK got a few questionable ones too.

ref was ok might have gotten a couple of calls wrong but a tough game to manage, much better than owens in the final last year. KK were the best team today anyway

Time to take Kilkenny out of the All Ireland championship.

I thought he was very biased towards Waterford today. He gave them everything he possibly could.

Waterford played brilliant and there is definitely an all ireland in them if they stick with it but Kilkenny fully deserved their win today.

agree.......as a Galway man i wanted KK to lose obviously but when i seen the way james Mcgrath was officiating i wanted kK to win. If we dont have fair play from the referees and officials then we may aswell forget about it.

someone started a thread about Mayo fans always booing decisions against them, but I thought Kilkenny fans were dreadful for it tonight, as well as cheering wides for Waterford they didn't cover themselves in glory. But they were the better team today and deserve to be in the final.

If the ref was crap at least his crap was consistent, mostly! Very difficult game to ref in fairness, still what's with Dan Shanahan's jaunts and forays onto the pitch with the water bottle?

There is a rule that you cannot drop your hurley and handpass the ball, yet no ref seems to enforce it

Have to disagree with a lot of the posts here . Ref did well in general .made a few mistakes for both teams. A waterford defender got a yellow when colin fennelly just charged into him and richie hogan got 2 very soft frees . Kilkenny fans and brian c didnt cover themselves in glory.

I thought the Ref did ok. Waterford lost it on the sideline really. But make no mistake this Kilkenny team is beatable. They used up some of their 9 lives today. And hopefully Tipp or Galway will finish them off- for the sake of hurling.
