Great display from Tipp footballers. Strong, positive, great in the air. Played the game in the traditional way. Sad to see a proud football county like Galway revert to that defensive system.

Yeah Galway looked like the team we thought they were at the start of the year. Worry is though that Tipp will know their place come semi which will see Kerry straight out of Munster and into an All Ireland final but that does not take away from today's performance.

Tipp are playing Mayo or Tyrone (sounds mad typing that).

Kerry are playing Dublin or Donegal.

Yeah great stuff from Tipp, imagine what they'd be like with all the players they have lost to hurling and emigration,I'd love to see them win Sam if we don't, but suppose neither are very likely to happen but you never know,
Tipp have a better chance than us anyway I think, they'll give Mayo a good game in the semi.

They won't be playing Kerry though. It's the winner of Mayo/Tyrone

Agree..great to see them tipp lads go out and play with no fear..kicking the ball .finding space.playing traditionally..created a number of goal chances for themselves and should have took a few more. .well done to them..but if they come up against tyrone in semis they wont be afforded them kind of chances.. they'll be smothered out of it..enjoy the few pints tipp..well done.

Do Mayo not have to play Tyrone first??

Lol my bad. Early to bed tonight. Hopefully Tipp press on regardless.

On that note though it entered my head that today's quarter finalists would be a semi final pairing due to coordination, recovery time and all that. My understanding of the A and B qualifiers is that it is aimed at trying to give teams qual space between games. If that is the case why does it go out the window at semi final stage?

I was not surprised. Out of respect to our opponent today I kept away from saying the Munster finalists would be going through to the semi-finals.

It's disappointing that emerging counties were not better supported in Croke Park today. I know Tipperary and Clare are traditionally hurling. Their footballers efforts in getting to the quarter-finals warranted better support.

Great stuff Tipp.

Fermanagh did something similar last year. It's becoming more and more common to have one underdog a year but until one of them finally wins it the will sadly be forgotten about in a few years.

I hope the push on (and hopefully get a shot at tyrone) and maybe revenge over Kerry in the final. Dream stuff

It's so complex, it's hard to know what's going on.

First up congrats to tipp..massive display. But for anyone not at da game don't b thinking it was traditional football tipp played. Tipp no 12 played sweeper all day an did a savage job. Galway wer a mess tactically.

Correct. Tipperary played a sweeper and were superb at exploiting Galway's tactical collapse. Taking nothing away from Tipp but Kerry, Tyrone and Dublin will not melt as easy at the back.

I love Tipp football so much. Always have always will. I can't get the win over Galway off my mind cos it's so big and means so much.

I'm from the hurling end of the county but this is our biggest win since 5th September 2010.

There is ficicious talk of a double now cos we are the only team left in both.

We are more likely to win nothing but at least both teams are so entertaining to watch.
